Acceptance
This blog is smoothwalled by school. So is any blog. I looked on the TourettesAction website and tried to look on that blog but it wouldn't work and I got annoyed. One of my teachers- I have her for half of my English Lit lessons and my EPQ- said I can ask the ICT technicians to unblock these for my EPQ. Thank god!
When I got diagnosed with Tourettes, I didn't really accept it fully straight away. It's only really this year that I have really started to accept it. It's a part of me and I can't change it and I wouldn't be me with my Tourettes.
I think the best thing to do is just accept it. I should have accepted it earlier to be honest but I was scared as to what people would think. Now, I'm not really scared but I always do think that someone will say something, with me coughing a lot, especially now.
So some advice for someone who has recently been diagnosed with Tourettes or anything really- accept it! It's a part of you. You can't change it and you wouldn't be you without it.
Joke of the day: "A ham sandwich walks into a bar and asks for a pint. The bartender says 'I'm sorry, we don't serve food here'"
