Return to school

Today in Tesco was absolutely horrible. It was so busy and loud and it was made worse by the fact I had the mask on my face. I felt the need to shout at the top of my lungs, "SHUT THE GODDAMN UP!!" But I didn't, obviously.

Boris Johnson has said that masks will need to be worn inside schools in all communal areas and in the corridoors. I don't think he realises one of many things:

  • My school are having staggered ends to lessons and I'm sure that many other schools would too. This means that we won't be interacting with people from other years.
  • All the years are separated. Y7 are in the sports hall, Y8 are in the blue gym, Y9 are in the Y8/Y9 social area, Y10 are in the hall, Y11 are in the canteen and Y12 and Y13 are in the common room.
  • Food will be served at all these places so there is no contact with other years.
  • The start and the end of the day is staggered as well so there is limited contact.
  • My school have also said that we don't have to wear a mask if we don't want to.

Boris also needs to realise that so many people struggle with wearing masks due to claustrophobia, anxiety and other issues such as Tourettes. I've heard that you can get lanyards that say why you are exempt to wearing masks but I don't know the ordeal around getting one.

My mum ordered a visor the other day and it said that it would come on Wednesday but fingers crossed, it comes on Tuesday. I think I would die if I had to wear a mask more or less all day. I wouldn't be able to do it and I know a lot of other people wouldn't be able to too.
